Political career
In the 1931 Conservative Landslide, she was elected as an MP (Member of Parliament) for the Cannock constituency in Staffordshire by defeating the Labour party member named William Adamson. She held and served that position for about 4 years until 1935. But then at the next election, it was regained by William Adamson of the Labour Party. So overall, she served as the Member of Parliament for Cannock from 27 October 1931 to 14 November 1935. During her time, the Prime Minister was Stanley Baldwin. Then in 1961 birthday Honours, she was appointed CBE.
