In this movie, she played a role of a teacher who falls in love with one of her students and ends up having a sexual relationship with him. After the release of the movie, Rediff stated that Poonam Pandey excelled as a seductress in the role which was opposed by the Mumbai Mirror stated that she did not play seductresses but the role of the proper responsible drama teacher and that she has made an effort but was unable to reach the mark.

The posters of the movie Nasha was the one which featured her clad in nothing, but just two placards placed tactfully over her body to make her feel covered. In 2013, in Mumbai the people became very angry and a group of angered people and protestors tore the posts of the movie and set them on fire. Personal Life of Poonam Pandey

Poonam Pandey was having a loving boyfriend, Sam Bombay for a very long whom she finally married on 1 September 2020. As 2020 was the time when Covid-19 had started and the country was suffering and trying hard to get of the pandemic, their wedding had to be private. Poonam Pandey and Sam Bombay got married in the presence of their close friends and family at their Mumbai home. Just after few days of marriage on September 11, Poonam filed a compaint against her husband Sam where she claimed that Bombay used to molest, threat and assault her.

When Pandey was shooting for a movie in Canacona village in South Goa, on September 23, Sam Bombay was arrested by the police. However all this made her accused and sparked a controversy against her. Many people accused her of abusing and scamming the use of IPC sections but all this come to an end when Bombay got released on bail and Pandey talked about everything with him.
